Yes yes, I know it’s a big wall of text.. but.. but.. read? I won't lie to you all, in my opinion this game is living up to it's hype and way beyond that.. and I've only, as most other people I bet, played the demo. With over 7 hours on the clock already I can give you a pretty good idea about what I’ve experienced When the demo was released I downloaded it right away, it downloaded pretty damn quick so I started the game. First I wanted to just check the game so I selected singleplayer and ran through the level fairly easy on normal difficulty with bots. It was an amazing experience, but I figured the best was to come when you play it with friends. The first big problem was the huge lack of dedicated servers, or most likely (SpA is hosting 10 of these servers) some kind of bug that left dedicated servers unused through matchmaking. At first I played it with MRuler, demm and some others, since matchmaking could not find us a dedicated server AT ALL.. we decided that one of us would host the game. I think it was MRuler that tried it first.. we couldn’t connect to him though because apparently the game set it to LAN so we got kicked out. Later demm and I would host, a bit (or a lot in my case; hosting) of lag but playable.. After a few games we had a bunch of fun experiences, singleplayer just doesn’t match up to playing with friends who have mics. There were waves after waves we fought through, saving each other from many special infected.. I swear that hunter has got it in for me.. mainly because I just like running into rooms guns blazing.. and then he jumps me and I yell “Save me! Pinned down!” and all is fine again till the next hunter shows up! Weapons, ammo, molotov cocktails and the pipe bombs are just NEVER where you expect them to be.. jumping down somewhere to grab a pipebomb because it was there last game and instead find 6-7 zombies is just part of the game. Pure fun! Demm hunting down the witch the first time he heard her was quite hilarious. It was on normal I think, but he did still actively try to hunt her down.. which all of us strongly disagreed on! “Sssh!” and “Turn of your flashlight” just didn’t seem to work on him. He didn’t end up startling her though (I think xD). Second day of playing this demo was even more insane, having beaten advance quite a few times we tried expert. MRuler, demm, LivingDruid (UndeadDruid joined us in the fun and set his name to LivingDruid since he was playing a survivor!) and me did make it into far into the metro level before giving up.. we kept dying. There were just not enough closets! We should try this again! Demm found some youtube video about somebody finishing the whole demo in 40(!!!) seconds.. so we tried the first shortcut demm found a few times, skipping the whole first building.. but yeah, what’s the fun in not killing all the zombies in the first building :D LivingDruid though, as an addiction to shooting cars. While I only shoot at the cars to set of the alarm in really stupid moments where I am the only one making it to the safe room, he just always shoots at it!! Not that I mind much, more zombies to kill or get killed by. We also killed a witch today, I was busy running and shooting before I figured out what was going on and she went down after firing a lot of bullets.. none of us died here and as demm so nicely put it “I know how we got her down! We shot a gas canister near her and she burned. That and alot of bullets.” This was on advanced though, I say we should stay VERY FAR out of her way on expert. At this time I had already played 10-15 games, I really lost count but that’s pretty accurate~ Wait a moment, demm is asking me to come play left 4 dead and I really want to go play now! Ok, time to continue. Last night I played the game with Beserker, who had some nice ideas to keep the game interesting, it was never uninteresting, but after so many games you have to come up with weird ways to play it! After a normal game we decided that we’d only use melee to kill opponents (except tanks/witch/smokers for the obvious reasons). We set the game to easy and started slapping away, luckily when you play easy it’s nearly impossible to die even when you only use melee! It was pretty fun, I mostly used my medkit to melee (yes that’s definitely possible!!) and beserker mostly used his shotgun to melee, even his pillbox and a kerosene tank were put to good use. We got to the end of the map with ease so we hung out in the final room a bit.. waiting for more waves to come. But this got a bit boring after many waves, so beserker thought it would be fun to backtrack the whole way back. I disagreed on this though, he didn’t get far before I caught up with him and we started to kill each other.. too bad on easy you can’t teamkill somebody no matter what :( So just now we played a bunch of games again, we got pretty good in this game.. since we finished expert a few times now. The first time we finished it there was no witch.. but the tank gave us big trouble. He took [random person that entered our server] and demm out and he downed me. MRuler helped me up and we waited for the two to get out of the closet. Then we got the brilliant idea to kill us two so we would respawn with 50hp. It didn’t take much convincing for demm to kill us at all.. it made me wonder.. We played a bit with a bot though since there was only MRuler, demm and me~ What I noticed was that all three of us were damaged but I had by far the most hp, yet bot Bill (I bet his age was getting to him) thought it was wise to give ME the pills. Not very smart, but I passed the pills on so all ended well xP One bug I noticed, which was really irritating.. was the bug that when you finish a game and go back to the lobby and you keep it on expert it will set it to advanced once you start the server. Once a real apocalypse occurs and the streets are filled with zombies.. we should definitely meet up (but not LivingDruid.. he shoots at cars..
